AudioCutter in Claude and ChatGPT

Trim and convert audio without leaving your AI chat. Ask Claude or ChatGPT, and the AudioCutter editor opens right in the conversation. Your file is processed on your device, just like on this site.

Add it to Claude

  1. In Claude on the web or in the desktop app, open Customize › Connectors.
  2. Choose + Add, then Add custom connector.
  3. Enter the name AudioCutter and this URL: https://mcp.audiocutter.app/mcp
  4. Choose Add. No sign-in is needed.

Free plans can add one custom connector. On Team and Enterprise plans, an organization owner adds it under Organization settings › Connectors, and members then connect it.

Add it to ChatGPT (beta)

  1. Open chatgpt.com/plugins.
  2. Choose +, then Add custom MCP server.
  3. Enter the name AudioCutter and the server URL https://mcp.audiocutter.app/mcp, with no authentication.
  4. Confirm the warning and choose Create as a plugin.

Whether you can add custom servers depends on your ChatGPT plan and workspace settings. ChatGPT support is new: if saving the result does not work there, use the same tool here on audiocutter.app.

How to use it

Ask in your own words, for example:

  • “Use AudioCutter to trim this audio from 0:05 to 0:20”
  • “Use AudioCutter to convert a file to MP3”

The editor opens in the chat with your settings filled in. Choose a file, check the selection and select Download. Claude asks before it saves the file. Trimming keeps the original quality when the format stays the same; conversion supports MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC and OGG.

What stays private

  • Your file is read and processed on your device, inside the editor in the chat. It is never uploaded to AudioCutter.
  • Our server, mcp.audiocutter.app, only receives the settings of a request, such as the start, end and format.
  • When you attach a file in ChatGPT, ChatGPT also sends our server a temporary link to it. The server ignores that link; the editor loads the file directly from ChatGPT.
  • Your conversation is covered by the privacy policy of Claude or ChatGPT. See our Privacy Policy for details.
