Audio Splitter

Split audio files online

Split a long recording into equal parts or fixed-length clips. Podcasts, interviews, audiobooks and lessons are split in seconds, and MP3 or WAV files keep their original quality.

Your files are not uploaded to any server, all processing happens in your browser. Remember to save your files to your device after processing. MP3 and WAV are edited without re-encoding, so they keep their original quality.

How it works

  1. Drop an audio file (MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC, OGG or AAC) into the box above.
  2. Choose equal parts or a maximum length per part and check the markers on the waveform.
  3. Keep the source format for a lossless split, or pick another output format.
  4. Press Split audio, listen to each part and download them one by one or as a ZIP.

Frequently asked questions

Are my files uploaded?

No. Your file is read and processed by your own browser and is never sent to a server.

Does splitting reduce quality?

Not for MP3 and WAV when you keep the source format: the parts are cut from the original data without re-encoding. Other formats, or a different output format, are re-encoded.

Why are MP3 cut points shifted slightly?

MP3 audio is stored in frames of about 26 milliseconds. To avoid re-encoding, each cut is placed on the nearest frame boundary.

Can I download all parts at once?

Yes. Keep the ZIP option on and use "Download all (ZIP)", or download each part separately.
