Frequently asked questions
Is trimming lossless?
For MP3 and WAV files kept in their source format, yes: the selected audio is copied without re-encoding. Fades, exact cuts and format changes re-encode the audio.
How precise is the cut?
WAV cuts are sample-accurate. Lossless MP3 cuts snap to the nearest 26 ms frame; turn on "Exact cut" for sample-accurate MP3 cuts with re-encoding.
Can I make a ringtone?
Yes. Select up to about 30 seconds, add short fades and save it as M4A or MP3, depending on your phone.
Where is the trimmed file stored?
It is created in your browser and saved to your device when you download it. AudioCutter keeps no copy.
