How do I record my voice online?

Updated:

Open the Online Voice Recorder, press Start recording and allow the microphone. When you finish, press Stop, trim the start and end and save it as MP3. The recording stays in your browser and is never uploaded.

What are the steps?

  1. Open the Online Voice Recorder in Chrome, Safari, Edge or Firefox.
  2. Press Start recording and allow microphone access when your browser asks.
  3. Speak; pause and resume whenever you like, then press Stop.
  4. Listen back and drag the handles to cut silence from the start or end.
  5. Choose MP3 or another format, press Save recording and download it.

Why doesn’t the recorder hear me?

Check that the browser may use the microphone (the icon in the address bar) and that the right microphone is selected. The Mic Test page shows your input level live, so you can find the problem before recording.

Can I record on my phone?

Yes. It works in Safari on iPhone and iPad and in Chrome on Android. Keep the page open and the screen on while you record.

Is there a time limit?

There is no fixed limit. The recording is kept in your browser’s memory, so sessions of several hours depend on your device.
