How do I make a ringtone from a song?
Updated:
Open the Ringtone Maker, drop the song, drag the handles to the 20 to 30 seconds you want and save it: MP3 for Android, M4R for iPhone. It is free, needs no app and the song never leaves your device.
What are the steps?
- Open the Ringtone Maker and drop a song (MP3, M4A, WAV, FLAC or OGG), or a video with the song in it.
- The first 30 seconds are selected. Drag the handles to the part you want and press play to preview it.
- A short fade out is already added, so the ringtone doesn’t stop abruptly.
- Keep MP3 for Android, or choose M4R (iPhone) as the output format for an iPhone.
- Press Trim audio and download your ringtone.
How do I put the ringtone on my iPhone?
Download the .m4r file, connect your iPhone to a computer and drag the file onto the iPhone in Finder (Mac) or iTunes (Windows). Then choose it under Settings > Sounds & Haptics > Ringtone.
How do I set it as my ringtone on Android?
Save the MP3, open Settings > Sound & vibration > Phone ringtone and choose the file. Some phones only list it after you move it into the Ringtones folder.
How long should a ringtone be?
iPhone ringtones can be up to 40 seconds. Android has no strict limit, but 20 to 30 seconds works best: long enough for the chorus, short enough to start at the good part.
