How do I merge audio files into one?

Updated:

Open the Audio Merger, drop two or more files, put them in order and press Merge files. You get one file to download. MP3 or WAV files with the same settings are joined without re-encoding.

What are the steps?

  1. Open the Audio Merger and drop two or more audio files, or use Add files.
  2. Put them in order with the Move up and Move down arrows, and remove any you do not need.
  3. Keep the source format for a lossless join, or choose another format.
  4. Press Merge files.
  5. Listen to the merged file and download it.

Can I merge different formats, such as MP3 and M4A?

Yes. Files in different formats or sample rates are decoded, brought to a common sample rate and joined into the format you choose.

Is merging lossless?

MP3 files with the same sample rate and channels, and WAV files with identical settings, are joined without re-encoding. A lossless MP3 join can leave a tiny gap at each join.

How do I merge voice memos or WhatsApp audio?

Save the recordings to your phone’s files first, then open the Audio Merger in Safari or Chrome and pick them all. Put them in order and merge.

How many files can I merge?

There is no fixed number; very long merges are limited by the memory of your device.

Can I add a pause between files?

The merger joins files back to back. To get a gap, record a few seconds of silence with the Voice Recorder and place it between the files.
