  2. Move the Pitch slider up or down. Each step is half a semitone, up to 12 semitones either way.

  4. Adjust until the key suits your voice or instrument.
  5. Press Apply and save, then download the new file.

How many semitones do I need?

A semitone is the distance between two neighboring piano keys: +2 moves a song from C to D, −3 from A to F♯. Twelve semitones are a full octave.

Does changing the pitch change the speed?

No. The length stays the same. If you want both to change together, like a record played faster, turn on “Change the pitch with the speed”.

How do I change the key to fit my voice?

Sing along with the preview and lower the pitch one semitone at a time if the high notes strain, or raise it if the low notes disappear. Most singers land within three semitones.

Will the song sound worse?

Shifts of a few semitones sound natural. Very large shifts can sound metallic, as with any pitch shifter.

Can I change the pitch on my phone?

Yes. The Pitch Changer works in Safari and Chrome on phones, and the song is processed in the browser.
